The Kissa PuniLabo series draws from LIHIT LAB's own company history. The predecessor to LIHIT LAB was Lihit Sangyo Co., Ltd., founded in the early 1950s. Kissa PuniLabo imagines a retro "pure cafe" (jun-kissa) from that era, with each character modeled after an animal native to Japan: a calico cat, an Akita dog, a Japanese raccoon dog, a Japanese macaque, an Ezo red fox, and an Ezo scops owl. Each one has a name, a personality, and a favorite food.

The Stand Pen Case Mini takes that character concept and builds it into the physical form of the case itself. The silicone body is shaped like the animal's head, with printed details wrapping around to the back. Pressing the case down from the top expands it into a stable pen stand without any additional parts or mechanisms. Silicone was chosen for the body material partly for that structural flexibility and partly because it can simply be rinsed clean when it picks up dust or ink.
