Masparade was designed around a simple observation: masking tape is everywhere in craft and stationery culture, but turning it into a finished wrapping tie or ribbon has always required tedious hand-folding. Shachihata's solution is a tri-folding mechanism that does the shaping automatically. Fold the leading edge of the tape in half, feed it into the device, and pull. The tape exits neatly folded into thirds.

The bobbin wire, made from PE resin, threads through the folded tape as it exits, creating a twist-tie-style wrapping tie that can be cut to length with scissors and reused. Remove the wire from the equation and the same motion produces a flat ribbon instead. The mechanism itself is patent pending.

Three case designs address different users: the plain case is intentionally blank, intended as a canvas for the owner's own tape and sticker decoration. Polka Dot and Window Pattern offer finished aesthetics straight out of the box. All three cases share the same internal mechanism and are compatible with the same ZTR-M15 bobbin wire refill.
