The ippo! Glue Stick came directly out of feedback from parents: glue stick caps are hard for small hands to open, and kids frequently leave them off, causing the glue to dry out. Tombow designed the teardrop-shaped cap to solve both problems at once. The asymmetric shape gives children a natural grip point and prevents the cap from rolling across the desk or floor.

The blue disappearing color formula addresses a different classroom frustration: children couldn't tell where they had already applied glue, leading to missed spots and wasted product. The blue tint makes coverage immediately visible, then fades to clear as the adhesive dries. A cap closure indicator adds one more layer of feedback, signaling when the cap hasn't been pressed on properly so the glue doesn't quietly dry out between uses.
