The Pop-Up Die-Cut Stand Memo Pad came from a simple observation: notes left on a desk get buried. Marumo Printing's answer was to engineer a memo sheet that, when folded in half, transforms into a freestanding figure. The die-cut silhouette rises from the fold, so the message stays visible rather than disappearing under other papers.

Achieving that effect at memo-pad scale required developing proprietary cutting technology capable of producing the fine, complex outlines of each animal without tearing the sheet. The five designs in the Popular Animals series, otter, panda, sloth, bluebird, and hamster, were chosen specifically because their shapes translate well into the pop-up format.

Paper selection was treated with equal care. The sheets use b7 Natural (formerly marketed as Cosmo Air Light), a stock known for its smooth writing surface, resistance to fountain pen and marker bleed-through, and a soft off-white tone that keeps the printed illustrations looking crisp.
