Behind the Design

The Ultra Monsters Collection was developed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Ultraman franchise. Rather than reproducing the monsters with their original dramatic, battle-ready look, the series redraws them in a softer, more approachable style, toning down sharp edges and intense expressions in favor of compact, rounded forms.

The result sits closer to character stationery than licensed merchandise, which was intentional. The goal was a range that fans of the franchise could use daily in a workplace or classroom without the items drawing too much attention, while still being immediately recognizable to anyone who grew up watching Ultraman.

A polypropylene A5 clear file from the Ultra Monsters Collection, created to mark Ultraman's 60th anniversary. The designs translate iconic kaiju into friendly, rounded illustrations that sit comfortably in everyday stationery without reading as overtly character-merchandise.
