The KOKUYO ME line was built around the idea of tools that fit the person using them rather than the other way around. The Type M mechanical pencil centers on one specific choice: a 0.7mm lead instead of the far more common 0.5mm.

That single millimeter of difference changes the experience considerably. The thicker lead flexes less under pressure, snaps less often, and lays down a line with more weight behind it, closer to what you get from a wooden pencil than from a fine-point drafting instrument. For everyday writing, notes, and journaling, that tactile quality matters.

The grip was engineered with two distinct zones. The front section is hexagonal, giving the fingers a stable, non-slip surface during active writing. Further back, the body rounds out so a relaxed grip doesn't dig in. The slim retractable tip keeps the lead protected when the pencil is in a bag or pocket, and the metal clip is sized for attaching to notebook covers or thicker pockets without flexing out of shape.
