The Tottoko Carrot started as an internal design at Morita Inbou, a stamp maker that has operated for 75 years near Shijo Karasuma in Kyoto. All of the shop's stamp designs come from a single in-house designer, and this particular image, a carrot with stubby legs caught mid-trot, became the shop's most requested product.

The pairing with a 'thank you' speech bubble is deliberate: the two stamps are sized and shaped to complement each other on a page, so they can anchor a note or card together. The carrot alone reads as a character; the bubble gives it something to say. The set is made to order, meaning each order is fulfilled individually rather than pulled from stock, which is typical of Japanese hanko (seal) culture where personalization and craft remain central to how stamps are made and sold.
