Coupy Pencils have been a fixture of Japanese classrooms and creative spaces since their introduction, known for their wax-free oil pastel core that can be sharpened like a pencil and layered like a crayon. This edition was conceived to celebrate Sakura Crepas' 100th anniversary, pushing the Coupy line to its widest color range ever.

The black square packaging doubles as a display piece: the grid of 100 pencils arranged flush in the box creates a color-field effect that reads as artwork when mounted on a wall. Inside, the 100 pencils are organized into four self-contained 25-color trays, each removable so you can pull out only the section you need and stand it upright at your desk. The 40 anniversary-exclusive colors and 12 pearl shades, which appear opaque and luminous on dark paper, were developed specifically for this set and are not available in any standard Coupy lineup.
