About Okaka the Wandering Cat

Meet Okaka, a wandering cat from a back alley in Yokohama's Chinatown. With only a furoshiki (traditional Japanese cloth used for wrapping, carrying, and storing items) bundle holding a makeshift fishing rod and two dried bonito flakes, Okaka roams the world, dreaming of one day catching a whale.

Although he has a scruffy appearance and often stumbles through life, he’s full of heart. His favorite meal is fish, though he steers clear of mean mice and crabs after a painful pinch. This hay fever-prone, crybaby cat mostly travels on foot or catches a ride on birds, embracing life’s adventures with resilience.
